Workshop on Climate Action Planning in Public and Private Sectors.
"The Greater Dallas Planning Council, in partnership with the Regional Integration of Sustainability Efforts (RISE), NCTCOG, Dallas 2030 District and UTA, is sponsoring a workshop focusing on sustainability practices and GHG programs, with a specific emphasis on climate action planning.

The workshop format is intended to facilitate an exchange of information between the private and public sector. Representatives of some of the major corporations in the region will share their programs, policies, and actions they are implementing internally that cities or other local governments can adopt or implement to support and accelerate business-related sustainability programs."

Registration fee is $15 and lunch is included. Registrations after February 20th will be $25

UTA Women's & Gender Studies Program is planning events for Women's History Month under the theme "Women, Politics and Empowerment." The goal is to encourage civic participation and encourage our students to vote. This will include a voter registration drive at up to 5 tables across campus.

Three Democratic and three Republican women in elected office in Tarrant County will be awarded the League's "Democracy Star".

There will be a buffet dinner, live auction of 4 exclusive trips, silent auction, 50/50 raffle, heads or tails auction, and other fun festivities to celebrate the 19th Amendment!

Suffrage & Voting Rights: Revisiting & Reimagining a Movement. The Women and Gender Studies (WGST) program at TCU are having a Suffrage and Voting Rights event March 24th with two 1-hour presentations from 4-6pm:

4-5pm Picturing Suffrage: The Art of the International Suffrage Movement
5-6pm Stories of Women's Intersectional Leadership

There is a visitor parking lot on Lubbock, close to the corner with Lowden, across the street from Hays Hall (the new business building). Rees-Jones Hall is just west of Hays Hall on Lowden.

2020 Convention.
Every two years in the spring of even-numbered years, LWV-Texas convenes a state convention. All League members are invited to attend.

Convention Registration is due by April 1.
Full Registration includes: Workshops, Saturday Luncheon, and Plenary Sessions.
